Today is National School Lunch Hero Day, so we want to give a huge shout-out to the Dewar Cafeteria Workers!
National School Lunch Hero Day is a special day when we celebrate the amazing people who work hard daily to serve us delicious and nutritious meals at school.
The Dewar cafeteria workers make sure we have the energy to learn and play by preparing tasty food with love and care. We want to recognize them and give a big thank you to the lunch heroes at Dewar for keeping our bellies full and our hearts happy!

Ahoy matey! Captain Heeter's sailors got in shipshape with a geometry review ⚓️📐. No scalawags to be seen here! ☠️ This crew uncovered the path to treasure on a map 🗺️ by completing geometry review questions and found a chest of jewels 💎💰!!
Arrrgggggghhh!! 🏴☠️

Mrs. Umpleby’s students had a blast exploring symmetry through a creative Canva project! Using their first or last names, they typed each letter and analyzed whether it was symmetrical or asymmetrical. This engaging activity helped students connect art, literacy, and geometry in a fun and meaningful way!

Miss Barfield and Miss Swopes’ 2nd grade class made math extra fun (and delicious) today! 🎉
We used cereal to build arrays and show repeated addition sentences. The students did an amazing job—and the best part? They got to eat the cereal when they finished! 🥣😋 Learning is always better with a snack!

Congratulations to Devyon Henley and Kamil Trollman! These students received awards at the LEIF Awards Ceremony.
Devyon received the One Lowndes Award and Kamil received the Most Improved Award. The Most Improved award is given to a student who has shown determination and growth this year, and the One Lowndes award is given to a student who shows kindness, is inclusive to all, and truly embodies what it means to be a Viking. We are so proud of both of you!

Congratulations to all of the students who met their Book Taco Reading Goal! These students were rewarded with popsicles and a poster! Keep reading everyone!!!

We want to take a moment to express our heartfelt appreciation for Erin Wacter and Lindsey Faircloth on Administrative Professionals Day.
Ms. Wacter, your warm welcome and steady presence at the front desk make every day brighter for students, staff, and visitors alike. Ms. Faircloth, your attention to detail and behind-the-scenes work keep everything running smoothly, even when no one sees the countless tasks you handle.
Thank you both for your dedication, professionalism, and the positivity you bring to our school every single day!
