Meet Our 2026–2027 Teacher of the Year
Jamie Andrews is a Life Skills Teacher serving students in grades K–5 at
Clyattville Elementary School in Valdosta, Georgia. With 27 years of experience in
education, she has taught Pre-K through 5th grade, general education, inclusion, and
special education classrooms, dedicating her career to helping all students reach their
fullest potential.
Andrews earned an Associate of Science in Education from Miami-Dade
Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from
Valdosta State University. She holds certifications in Elementary Education, Special
Education, ESOL, and Reading, reflecting her commitment to meeting the diverse
needs of all learners. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her
commitment to students, families, and the teaching profession. Her honors include the
2026 Cindy Rood Spirit of Service Award, a national recognition awarded to one
member among more than 15,000 members of the National Association of Junior
Auxiliaries. She was also named one of Ellen DeGeneres’ Top 250 Inspirational
Teachers, received the Walgreens “We Are Teachers” Award, was a two-time
LifeChanger of the Year nominee, and has been recognized as WCTV Teacher of the
Month, and Employee of the Month at Clyattville Elementary School.
Andrews believes that strong relationships are the foundation of student success.
She maintains high, attainable expectations while fostering accountability,
independence, and confidence in her students. She is committed to ensuring that both
students and their families have a voice in the educational and developmental process,
believing that meaningful collaboration creates the strongest outcomes. Her
pedagogical priorities center on individualized instruction, inclusion, communication, and
building a true partnership among educators, students, and families to help every child
reach their fullest potential.
