CES Clubs

CLYATTVILLE ELEMENTARY CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS


ARCHERY: Developing marksmanship, hand and eye coordination, as well as to foster sportsmanship. 


ART CLUB: The mission is to cultivate the innate talent of our FUTURE master artist. The CES art teacher makes available a variety of spectacular projects using multiple art mediums. This club is by invitation only, seeking upper grade students who exemplify a willingness to be creative with self-motivation, integrity, and leadership in the field of visual arts.


BASKETBALL: Learning fundamentals of teamwork and commardie through the fundamentals of basketball is the goal of this sporting activity.


BERRY’S BUDDIES: The purpose of this intervention program is to provide at-risk elementary male students an intervention for success. Its goal is to steer these students towards academic and behavioral success, through mentoring, tutoring, and frequent intervention. The ultimate goal is to help these boys maintain positive behavior and perform on their academic grade level.  This program is geared toward at-risk male students in grades 3-5.


 CES CHATTER NEWS TEAM: Tryouts to become news anchors are for rising 5th graders! Each morning these students update classmates about important events, provide fun facts, discuss and forecast the weather, and share the lunch menus. Students are taught how to gather and report news, as well as, how to edit their productions.


CES BEAUTY PAGEANT: Students in Pre-K through 5th grade learn the fundamentals of public speaking, modeling, and stage presence. Participants develop poise along with inner and outward confidence. Monies raised through this endeavour are used for schoolwide needs such as class field trips and PE equipment. It has been a long-standing tradition of being one of the school’s most popular and biggest fundraisers.


CHORUS: The club's mission is to promote the appreciation and performance of musical selections; members perform at FACE (Family and Community Engagement) activities. They provide entertainment for the Saturday Story-Time  with Santa, and special programs for CES students. Chorus is open to all 2nd grade students.  


DRAMA CLUB: Developing the talents of novice thespians is the goal of this club.  Open auditions for students in grades 3rd through 5th. Acting, as well as voice and dance, are showcased during two performances per school year. 


4-H CLUB: Assists youth in acquiring knowledge, developing life skills, and forming attitudes that will help them become self directing, productive, and contributing citizens. 4-H provides events, classes, activities, and forums at local, state, and national levels. All events are planned to enhance positive youth development and education. GIRLS ON THE RUN: Using a fun, experienced-based curriculum, this organization promotes health and confidence for girls in grades 3rd-4th-5th. Girls learn endurance, self-reliance, and diligence through teamwork activities, and as they prepare to compete in local 5K runs.  

 

GUITAR: The club's mission is to promote the appreciation and performance of guitar music; members perform at FACE events for CES students. With over 40 budding musicians, this club is open to 3rd through 5th graders. 

 

JUNIOR BETA: The mission is to promote the ideals of honesty, service, morality, ethical conduct, and leadership among elementary school students, to reward meritorious achievement, and to encourage and assist students in continuing their education after high school. This organization is open to 4th and 5th grade students with a grade point average of 90%. In addition, students must be teacher recommended and have no behavioral records or office referrals. 

 

 MATH IS RADICAL TEAM: A club in which participants believe that “MATH is the only subject that COUNTS!”  Students in 5th grade must qualify to be part of this elite team through grades, classroom performance, and testing. Through challenging practice sessions outside of classroom time, these students discover that too much leads to a greater circumference! The critical thinking skills they develop are used during math competitions within the district.


RHYTHMS TEAM: Our mission is to promote good health and teamwork through participation in rhythms activities. This club performs at FACE events, for CES students, at several local organizations, and at the Georgia PE Teacher conference at Jekyll Island. 


SAFETY AMBASSADORS: Members of this club help acclimate new students to their surroundings. During special events and programs, they welcome and seat guests. Ambassadors monitor hallways and assist younger students in loading buses.  

 

STEM/ROBOTICS CLUB: Its mission is to promote healthy attitudes toward maintaining the environment and to encourage a love of science while improving science skills and concept knowledge. 


VIKING RUNNERS: Learning endurance and sportsmanship is the mission of these athletics. 


WRITING CLUB: Is open to Inspiring young, budding authors  in grades .The club goal is to generate authentic writing for submissions to Highlights, Scholastic, and other magazines in hope of publication in the club goal.
