I am a native of Valdosta, graduating from Valdosta High School in 1998. I completed my student teaching and secured my first job at Hahira Middle School (HMS). While at HMS from August 2003 – May 2009, I served in many capacities including 6th, 7th, and 8th grade blueprint mathematics teacher, FCA leader and coordinator, team leader, 7th grade math teacher, 7th grade math chair, and mentor. I transitioned to Pine Grove Middle School when it opened its doors in August 2009. While there, I served as 7th grade math teacher and team leader, 7th grade Lead Academic Teacher, FCA sponsor, Omega Alpha ((mentoring program) founder and sponsor, and on the leadership team.
My administrative experience began at Clyattville Elementary School when I was named assistant principal in Fall 2013. I served in this capacity for the last three years and was just recently named the principal of Clyattville Elementary School effective July 2016.
I attended Valdosta State University to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education with an emphasis in Math and Social Studies. I also holds a Master’s degree in Teaching and Learning as well as an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership. I am passionate about teaching, learning, curriculum, staff morale, mentoring, and reaching children of all ages to help them achieve their maximum potential.
I am married to Paige Berry, media specialist at J.L. Newbern Middle School in the Valdosta City School system. We have two beautiful daughters, Kendahl and Khloe, who both attend CES, and are expecting a baby boy in September 2016! I am a member of Joyous Praise W.O.D. Ministries in Valdosta, Georgia where I serve in many capacities including elder/overseer, praise team leader, minister, and marriage class co-instructor.
